It started off to be a bad Tuesday afternoon for the Oak Ridge girls’ soccer team.
First, the school bus was 30 minutes late picking the Lady Wildcats up for their 6 p.m. game at the Webb School of Knoxville.
Then, a wreck in Solway made the bus driver take a roundabout detour through Karns to get to Webb.
Then, during the ride to Webb, starting forward Aniya Fisher got sick after drinking an energy drink on an empty stomach and couldn’t start the match.
All that didn’t deter the Lady Wildcats, who gave up an early goal but rallied for a 2-1 victory in the non-district season opener for both teams.
