Football coaches are forever talking about the “big play.”
Offensive coaches want big plays from their running backs or quarterback-receiver tandems. Defensive coaches constantly try to prepare their squads to avoid giving up the big play and to make one themselves.
Friday night at Sam Anderson Field, the Austin-East Roadrunners relied on one big play after another on both sides of the ball to pull away from Halls, 30-9, in a non-district contest.
