Kendall Anne Murphy got her first career start Saturday night for the Bearden girls’ basketball team.
It came under adverse circumstances with the season on the line.
The sophomore wing replaced Rachael Wilhoit in the starting lineup for the Lady Bulldogs’ 71-50 victory over visiting Daniel Boone in a Class 4A sectional game.

Wilhoit, a junior, suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Wednesday’s Region 2-4A championship against Heritage.
