The Bearden girls’ soccer team showed why it’s top-ranked in the nation Thursday night.
Senior forward Brinley Murphy scored two goals and the host Lady Bulldogs posted a 7-0 victory over rival Farragut.
Bearden (7-0, 2-0 in District 4-AAA) went 23-0-1 last season, won the Class AAA state championship, and finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
The Lady Bulldogs started the season ranked No. 2 in the nation and climbed to No. 1 this week.
