The Powell girls’ soccer team left Bearden with a 2-0 loss Tuesday night but got plenty of kudos from its coach, Victoria Weinhandl.
Bearden (1-0) scored goals on a penalty kick and a direct kick against the Lady Panthers (0-1) in a season opener pitting teams that reached Class AAA state sectionals in 2019.
