Bella Ekeler may have saved the season for the Farragut volleyball team.
The junior setter returned from an elbow injury just in time to lead the Lady Admirals to the District 4-AAA tournament championship Thursday night at Bearden.
Top-seeded Farragut (26-5) defeated No. 2 Bearden 3-1 in the losers-bracket final – an elimination match – before beating No. 4 Maryville 3-0 in the championship.
“There is no way that we could have won without Bella,” Farragut coach Andre Alves said. “There is no way.”
