CLINTON — Early into his senior season, Anderson County guard Brandon Dake was able to cross off a pretty significant milestone from his list of goals.
Dake became the school’s all-time leading scorer earlier in the week, breaking a record that has stood since the late 1980s.
Dake added to the total with 36 more points in Friday night’s 88-61 home win over Halls as part of the 2024 Hammer’s Hardwood Classic.
The Mavericks will play for the championship of the AC bracket Saturday against Kingston at 5:15 p.m. at Anderson County. Kingston knocked off Pickett County 85-68 in the last game of the night at AC.
But it’s a team milestone, not an individual one, that would allow for Dake’s high school career to feel complete.
