Brandon Heyward seemed to be everywhere on Blakenship Field against Jefferson County. Whether it be at wide receiver or corner, the senior was making plays when Oak Ridge needed it the most.
Heyward’s interception and 94 yards on nine catches helped Oak Ridge defeat Jefferson County 30-13 in the season opener on Friday night.
Heyward currently holds over 15 scholarship offers, including one from Tennessee.
“It was basically a Mr. Football type performance,” Oak Ridge head coach Derek Rang said. “At corner, receiver, I don’t know what the statistics were, but he had catches, an interception. It was pretty magical.”
