Hardin Valley Academy baseball coach Tyler Roach recalls a conversation he had with senior pitcher Bryce Jenkins early in the season.
“Coach, I’ve never won a playoff game,” Jenkins told Roach.
“Well good,” Roach replied. “You’re going to be on the mound the first (playoff) game. It’s in your hands so let’s see what you’ve got.”
