GREENEVILLE – Star senior running back Carson Quillen and the Greeneville offense stole the spotlight Friday night.
Quillen rushed for 307 yards on just 24 carries and scored five touchdowns as the Greene Devils knocked off game Gibbs 48-10 in the second round of the state Class 4A playoffs at Burley Stadium.
Quillen scored on runs of 14, 60, 2, 32 and 10 yards and Greeneville set a school record with 621 yards of total offense.
“Quillen has been banged up and he still rushes for 307 yards in a big game,” said Greeneville coach Eddie Spradlen.
“The bigger the game the more you’re going to get from him.”
