ALCOA – It was a historic Monday for the girls’ softball team at Maryville’s Eagleton College and Career Academy.
The No. 2-seeded Lady Royals rallied from a four-run deficit for a 9-8 victory over No. 3 Gatlinburg-Pittman in the District 2-AA tournament at Alcoa.
It’s the first district tournament victory in program history for Eagleton Academy (14-11), which is playing its first season of varsity softball. The Lady Royals played a JV schedule in their first two seasons.
