MARYVILLE – Still perfect.
The Bearden boys and girls’ basketball teams extending their season-opening winning streaks Tuesday night with victories over District 4-AAA rival Maryville.
Senior guard Zneyah McLaughlin scored 25 points and led the Lady Bulldogs (7-0, 2-0 in 4-AAA) to a 70-64 victory over the Lady Rebels (6-1, 1-1).
In the boys’ game, 6-6 senior forward Hayden Treadwell had 14 points as the Bulldogs (9-0, 1-0) posted a 68-47 win over short-handed Maryville (4-4, 1-1).
The Rebels were without two of their top players – seniors Jack Brown and Josh Seiler – due to COVID-19 protocol. Both are averaging about 16 points per game.
