CLINTON — In a back-and-forth matchup that was searching for a game-defining play, Eli Davis found it.
The Anderson County senior linebacker forced a safety on a sack with 1 minute, 9 seconds, left in the game Friday to give the Mavericks a 30-24 victory over Elizabethton in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.
