MURFREESBORO – Ashton King got a preview earlier this week at what was coming on Thursday afternoon.
Farragut High’s senior shortstop was one of the few Admirals to see Bartlett starting pitcher Grant Nobles, who worked an inning of relief in the teams’ game on Tuesday. The right-hander throws with a pronounced sidearm motion, sweeping his arm toward home plate like he’s wielding a scythe.
“We only saw a little bit of him but I was one of the batters,” King said. “So I had seen his stuff before. I think that helped me prepare.”
Nobles got an eyeful of King in the return engagement.
