Been there, done that.
Farragut’s Avery Flatford knew what it takes to reach the state softball tournament and she used it to her advantage Saturday night.
The senior left-hander fired a two-hitter as the Lady Admirals beat visiting Dobyns-Bennett 5-0 in a Class 4A state sectional game.
Farragut (39-3-1) earned a berth in the state tournament, which starts Tuesday in Murfreesboro, after winning the Class AAA state championship last year.
“After you get through it once, you kind of know what to expect,” Flatford said. “I was amped up on energy today just because I knew what to expect, and I knew my defense and my offense had my back, so I felt pretty comfortable out there today.”
