A sense of loss served Central High’s postseason purposes on Friday night.
Two weeks after dropping their regular season finale to Gibbs, the Bobcats weren’t lacking for motivation. They were more airtight on defense and more explosive on offense.
The result was a vastly different outcome as Central advanced with a 49-7 home victory in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
“You can’t not have the kids focus on that,” Central coach Bryson Rosser said. “… The opportunity to play them again was a big deal, whether you try to focus on that or not.”
