When the Greeneville girls’ soccer team makes it to a state final, the Lady Greene Devils usually cash in, more times than not.
They’ll have an opportunity to further that trend in the Class AA state championship game on Monday.
Lindsey Cook scored two first-half goals, and Macy Vermillion added a goal and an assist after the break to lead Greeneville past Livingston Academy, 6-0, in a state semifinal in Murfreesboro.
Greeneville (17-5) will take on East Hamilton at 4 p.m. Central on Monday in the season finale. East Hamilton defeated Hume-Fogg in penalty kicks on Saturday night.
Greeneville has played in four state title games in the previous five seasons and has won three — including last season’s state championship. It has not played East Hamilton before in a state finale.

Margaret Defranco scored in the 24th minute for Franklin (13-3-1), and Bearden (21-2) couldn’t get either of its second-half shots on goal through to tie or take the lead in Saturday’s state semifinals.
Bearden was looking to win its first state girls’ soccer tournament since 2007.
CLASS A
For more than half the state semifinals Saturday against Signal Mountain, it looked as though Bonnie Lauderback’s goal in the 33rd minute would hold steady, that Alcoa would use it for a 1-0 win.
But Signal Mountain, the defending champions, scored in the 53rd and 55th minutes to rally for a 2-1 victory.
Alcoa’s season ended with an 11-7-1 record, as the Lady Tornadoes were trying to make a second consecutive appearance in the state title game.
They last won a state title in 2017.
