As the Farragut Lady Admirals awaited their moment to grasp the Region 2-4A Tournament championship trophy they’d just won Wednesday night, head coach Jason Mayfield went down the line of seated players and doled out high-fives to each.
The gesture was a simple one.
Still, it spoke volumes.
He knew how far the girls had come — from a 7-10 record on Dec. 30 to now winning on a meaningful postseason stage.
