ALCOA – Almost three months ago, the Alcoa football team couldn’t pull away from Gatlinburg-Pittman until the second half of their game.
That was not the case Friday night.
The Tornadoes (12-1) rolled to a 42-0 halftime lead and coasted to a 56-21 victory over the Highlanders (11-2) in the Class 3A state quarterfinals.
Alcoa had a 49-0 lead in the third quarter before G-P scored.
