Jaden Gibbs passed on a chance to play at the highest level of college football for Kentucky or South Carolina in the SEC.
His lifelong bond with his cousin, Isaiah Gibbs, was stronger than the lure of bright lights and big stages of a Power 5 conference in the FBS.
The Farragut seniors committed in July to play for Tennessee-Martin of the FCS Ohio Valley Conference. Isaiah, a running back/cornerback, committed to UT-Martin on July 16, and Jaden, a wide receiver/safety, committed 13 days later. It solidified a plan they made long ago.
