NASHVILLE – Not much was going right for the Maplewood football team Friday night.
So when Greeneville quarterback Cade Ballard threw an interception late in the third quarter of their TSSAA Class 4A state semifinal contest, the home team’s public address announcer boasted that it was Ballard’s first pick of the season.
The senior signal caller headed to the sideline shaking his head. In the grand scheme of things, it didn’t really matter – especially not to Ballard.
