MORRISTOWN – Greeneville got the win over Morristown West as expected Friday, but there was a bigger takeaway from the game.
The Trojans are for real, and look for West to be a factor down the road this season in the Class 5A playoff picture.
Greeneville (4-0), the state’s top-ranked team in 4A, overcame a horrendous start and an avalanche of penalties to pull out a hard-fought 28-21 victory over the Trojans (3-1) at Burke-Toney Stadium.
The Greene Devils needed two touchdowns in the final 7:35 of play to escape with the decision.
