Maybe other high school football programs around the state will follow suit.
Perhaps they won’t.
But Halls football coach Scott Cummings extended his team’s dead period by a week to ensure its safety and its chances at having a 2020 season.
“All I know is this: I want to play football,” said Cummings. “I desperately want for our seniors to have their senior year, the best that it can possibly be.
“I just know the more cases we get with our high schoolers, the less likely that’s going to be. And so, at the end of the day, why not?”
