Nic Harpst kept the faith in the face of adversity Monday night.
Catholic’s junior left-hander was one pitch away from ending an elimination game against visiting Maryville in the losers’ bracket of the District 4-AAA baseball tournament.
Instead, Harpst gave up a two-out, two-run homer to Drew Elkins in the top of the seventh inning as Maryville tied the game, 5-5.
Harpst went to the dugout and handed the ball to his brother, senior Rece Harpst.
