Then a 51-year-old, Treadway stepped down in March 2022 after three seasons at Midway citing his need for time to devote to his health and family. He led Midway to two playoff appearances and 18 wins during the 2019-21 seasons.
Treadway now takes over for Justin O’Toole.
Treadway offered this statement through the school’s social media…
“I am incredibly grateful for the trust and belief the administration at Midway High School has in my ability to lead. Being given the rare opportunity to coach both the football and boys’ basketball programs allows me greater visibility and a more meaningful role in developing student-athletes — both as competitors and as young men.
“After stepping down as head football coach in 2022 due to a personal health concern, I was uncertain if I would ever coach again. However, I was blessed with the opportunity to lead the MHS boys’ basketball team, and now, I have the privilege of returning to football. Back in 2022, I said, ‘I do not know what’s next, but I am not closing the door on coaching.’ This moment is a reminder that God’s plan is always greater than our circumstances. I am excited to get to work!”
