LENOIR CITY – Heritage girls’ basketball coach Rick Howard was concerned going into Tuesday night’s game at Lenoir City, thanks to Monday’s practice.
“Yesterday’s practice, I knew we weren’t going to come down here and light it up because we had a really bad practice,” Howard said, “and I told them, ‘Hey, you don’t know what you’re getting ready to run into.
“But they believe me now.”
Heritage rallied from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter and defeated Lenoir City 55-52 in overtime, staying unbeaten in District 5-3A play.
