SWEETWATER — Cars jammed the parking lot. Fans stood in rows around packed bleachers at Sweetwater’s baseball field.
History was made Thursday night when the Sweetwater baseball team earned the program’s first-ever trip to the state tournament.
The Wildcats got it with an 8-6 victory over perennial state power Pigeon Forge in the deciding game of their best-of-three series of the Class AA sectional round.
