Wes Jones had a bittersweet homecoming to Hardin Valley Academy on Friday night.
The former head coach of the Hawks was on the visitors’ sideline for the first time ever, serving as an assistant coach for Science Hill of Johnson City.
Jones and the Hilltoppers put a 52-14 whipping on Hardin Valley in the Region 1-6A opener for both teams.
“It is really weird,” said Jones, who started the HVA football program for its inaugural season in 2009.
