WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Cade Ballard, Greeneville High School (2015-18 seasons)
NOW: After not playing for Army in 2019, Ballard — listed as a freshman on this season’s roster — made his first start this past Saturday for the Black Knights (5-1). He led Army past Texas-San Antonio, 28-16, scoring his first career collegiate touchdown on a 5-yard run with 12 minutes, 47 seconds, left in the fourth quarter, putting Army ahead by 12. He finished 1-for-3 passing for 53 yards and three carries for five yards. Army plays Mercer this Saturday.
THEN: Ballard led Greeneville to consecutive Class 4A championships, going 15-0 in both 2017 and 2018 and collecting 4A Mr. Football trophies in both seasons. He threw for 9,366 yards in his career with 123 TD passes and a state-record 183 combined rushing and passing touchdowns. His combined 12,068 passing and rushing yards ranks second all-time in TSSAA football history.
