ALCOA — It may have been Maryville High School freshman quarterback Will Jones’ first time playing in the rivalry game against Alcoa on Friday, but he is all too familiar with it.
Jones watched his older brother, Carson, have a lot of success against the Tornadoes in his time as quarterback. Carson Jones, a 2022 Maryville grad who is now playing at Furman, shared a word of advice with his younger brother before his first Battle of Pistol Creek.
“It’s another game, be calm,” Carson Jones wrote his younger brother. “Go in there with a lot of confidence.”
Poise was something Will Jones pointed out remembering watching his older brother play with.
Poise was what Jones had with under a minute remaining against Alcoa on Friday night.
