ENGLEWOOD – Gatlinburg-Pittman’s Maddy Newman made the best of a 2-plus-hour ride to McMinn Central on Monday afternoon.
“I took me a good nap on the bus on the way here,” the 6-foot-1 senior forward said, “but I think our team went out and played pretty well after a long ride.”
That, they did.
Newman scored 31 points and the Lady Highlanders (27-2) made their ride home a pleasure, thanks to a 76-75 victory over the Chargerettes (24-4).
