MARYVILLE – Catholic freshman Sydney Mains knows how to keep her basketball coach off her back.
She ought to know. Her coach is her father, first-year Catholic coach Travis Mains.
Sydney’s mother, Missey, is Catholic’s assistant coach under Travis Mains.
“He’s pretty hard on me, but most of the time it goes pretty good, unless I have a bad attitude,” Sydney Mains said. “Then it doesn’t work out too well.”
It worked out well Monday night – despite the Lady Irish’s 35-29 loss to Murfreesboro Oakland (5-4) in the opening round of the Maryville Christmas Classic.
