In times of trouble, Hunter Monday turns to his own plan for pitching emergencies.
“Sounds a little crazy,” the Pigeon Forge High left-hander said, “but I try to breathe deeper and be more focused.”
He also retreats to a safe haven at the back of the pitcher’s mound. There, he gathers himself and narrows his thoughts.
“When I get in that situation,” he said, “I just try to lock in.”
