Led by a pair of versatile sisters and a gem-of-a-catcher, Morristown West has lived up to its billing as one of the softball teams to watch this season in the 5Star Preps coverage area.
Coach Heather Kelley’s Lady Trojans stand 15-7 overall after falling 4-1 to Waverly on Saturday morning in Gibbs Invitational play at Caswell Park in Knoxville.
West, at 5-0 in league play, is also in command of District 2-4A.
“As a team, I feel like we’ve done well so far,” said senior catcher and four-year starter Jaelyn McDaniel.
“We have very good chemistry and I feel like we’ve gotten stronger as the season has gone on.”
