The transition from offseason to new season is always accompanied by anticipation and hope.
And that becomes even more true when a new coach is brought in to turn things around after a losing season.
Central and Fulton both faced that reality, but a head-to-head meeting right off the bat meant only one of those schools could partner that anticipation and hope with the tangible result of a victory to open its season.
That distinction went to the Bobcats, as Central kicked off Kevin Lane’s tenure as head coach with a 31-12 win over the Falcons on Friday at home.
