OAK RIDGE – Way back in winter, Halls’ quarterback plans for the 2022 football season began to change when projected starter Caleb Shaffer suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder during basketball season.
Shaffer, a junior guard at the time, played the rest of the season with the injury, but a long rehab process cost him his senior season of football this fall.
While still with the team, Shaffer will watch from the sideline as senior Cassen Huffaker takes over as the starting quarterback.
