Nicco Young deserved the rest.
Following Bearden’s dramatic 14-10, comeback win over Cleveland that improved the Bulldogs’ chances at getting into the Class 6A playoffs, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior took a reclined seat on the synthetic turf at Bearden while head coach Morgan Shinlever delivered an emotional post-game speech about resiliency.
While most players took a knee, Young propped his back upon his helmet and cradled the game ball in the bend of his right arm, relishing the moment like a much-deserved vacay.
And why wouldn’t he?
