ALCOA — It wasn’t by design, but it set the tone for the rest of the game.
When Alcoa got to the line-of-scrimmage before the first snap, quarterback Sam Vaulton noticed something in the Austin-East defense, and the junior wasted no time in exposing the issue.
He found Ronald Jackson streaking by a Roadrunner safety and gave him a chance to make a play. Jackson pulled it down and sprinted 62 yards to the end zone, as the Tornadoes rolled to a 42-0 home win in the Region 2-3A opener for both teams.
