MARYVILLE – State football championships are the standard at Maryville High School, not semifinal appearances.
The last two decades or so are to thank for that, as the Rebels have won 13 of their 17 all-time TSSAA state championships from 2000-2020.
Still, this state semifinal streak of Maryville’s definitely merits a mention.
And it will see a familiar foe next week in the program’s 22nd consecutive semifinal appearance: defending state champion Oakland.
