Oak Ridge High School is looking for a new head football coach – again.
In a bombshell development Friday, Oak Ridge officials announced they are parting ways with Scott Cummings, who resigned almost exactly a year to the day that he was hired as Wildcats head coach.
An explanation of Cummings’ surprise exit after just one season as Wildcats coach per a press release issued by Oak Ridge Principal Drayton Hawkins:
“Oak Ridge Schools can confirm that coach Scott Cummings is no longer employed as the head football coach at Oak Ridge High School.
“Because this involves a personnel matter, however, Oak Ridge Schools will have no further comment at this time, other than to wish coach Cummings the best moving forward.”
