MURFREESBORO – Reese Plemons toured the bases early Thursday evening intent on not keeping his teammates waiting.
“Just get home and celebrate with them,” Greenback High’s senior catcher said.
There, they convened a party unlike any other involving the Cherokees’ baseball program. Plemons inspired the joyous occasion, slamming a home run over the center field fence at Riverdale High in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Greenback a 5-4 victory over Summertown in the Class A state tournament.
