The 2018 high school football schedule was as brutally tough as it was unwelcoming for the Webb Spartans.
There were the early season bouts with Division II-AAA powers Ensworth and McCallie. A trip out of state to Asheville. Playing Evangelical Christian School at Vanderbilt.
Five of Webb’s first six contests were road games.
It all added up to a disastrous 1-5 start. While the Spartans rebounded to finish 6-6 and reach the second round of the Division II-AA playoffs, they’re hungry for a much better leap out of the gates this fall.
