The news finally spilled out Tuesday afternoon that Derek Rang would be the new head football coach at Oak Ridge High School.
Rang, who formerly coached in East Tennessee at Powell and Gatlinburg-Pittman, resigned after one season at Lewis County High School in West Tennessee to come back to East Tennessee.
5Star Preps spoke with the 38-year-old Rang about his decision to leave after an 11-2 run in 2022 to come coach the Wildcats.
