ALCOA – Those early-season struggles seem like the distant past for the Alcoa girls basketball team.
Junior guard Destiny Haworth scored 22 points as the Lady Tornadoes beat visiting Carter, 67-41, in the Region 2-AA quarterfinals Friday night.
Alcoa (18-12) has won seven of its last eight games with the loss to Class AAA Maryville on Feb. 2.
