Karns senior Alyssa Maples pitched around some early troubles Thursday night and reached a career milestone in the process.
The Lincoln Memorial University signee fired a three-hitter with six strikeouts, leading the Lady Beavers to a 5-0 victory over visiting Oliver Springs.
After her fourth strikeout — which came in the fourth inning — Maples was presented a game ball recognizing her 300th career strikeout by Karns coach Michael Spain.
