SEVIERVILLE — Christian Hoffman, the 6-foot-5 junior and first-year starting quarterback at Sevier County, will definitely have better stat nights in his career than what he had Thursday in Game 1 of the season.
Perhaps he had first-game jitters.
Maybe just some early season rust.
But with the game hanging in the balance, the Smoky Bears coaching staff had no reservations about putting the decisive play in Hoffman’s hands.
He rewarded their belief.
