KINGSTON — Depth and defense led to a crucial victory for the Harriman boys’ basketball team Tuesday night.
The Blue Devils rallied from a 15-point deficit early in the third quarter and posted a 49-44 victory over host Midway, clinching the No. 1 seeding for the District 4-A tournament.
Harriman (16-6, 7-0 district) played Tuesday night without two starters, senior Martel Yeager and junior Cam Anderson.
Yeager is averaging about 18 points and 11 rebounds and Anderson about eight points and six rebounds. Both are out with illness and should return after this week.
“They’re definitely key players, but I really think that (sophomores) Devin Bertram and R.J. Jones played really well for us,” Harriman coach Shay Shannon said. “Everybody came in and gave us minutes.
