There will be a new state football champion in Class 5A in Tennessee.
Shawn Gary scored three touchdowns and rushed for 146 yards on 35 carries as South-Doyle knocked off two-time defending state champion Central 21-14 in Fountain City on Friday night.
The win sends the Cherokees (10-3) into an improbable semifinal matchup next week at Oak Ridge.
