Where did the regular season go?
It seems like just yesterday that we were getting ready for the much-anticipated high school football season openers.
Now it’s time to shift gears.
A total of 230 teams in nine classifications across the state qualified for the playoffs, which begin Friday night.
Some are favorites to advance to the 2021 BlueCross Bowl state championships Dec. 2-4 at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.
Others are long shots just to survive Round 1 of the playoffs.
But one thing all 230 teams have in common is hope.
Here’s a look at some of the key matchups in Classes 1A through 4A in the 5Star Preps coverage area:
- 4A: South-Doyle at Greeneville
- 2A: Meigs Co. posts statement win
- 1A: History on the line at Oakdale
