The announcement of a 5A clash between Powell and two-time defending state champion Central moved the needle in a major way Wednesday.
The game was scheduled Wednesday after we’d released our game predictions for Week 5.
So let’s just set this game aside, take a look at the tale of the tape and make our prediction.
5Star Preps No. 6 Central (4-0) will host No. 5 Panthers (4-0) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. The game will be on MyVLT and streamed on Diamond Clear Media for those who can’t snag a ticket.
The two programs haven’t played since 2016, and Central won that contest, 42-0, en route to a state runner-up finish that fall in Class 4A.
